Recently, Fashionistas of the gown loving variety have been spoiled pink by some of SL’s better known designers. Today, we will examine new releases from Kouse’s Sanctum and from Evie’s Closet. Yes, Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet is back in action, and she’s gifted the fashion world with some lovely new empire style gowns.

Let’s begin with Kouse’s Sanctum. Kouse Singh of Kouse’s Sanctum has created a one of a kind set that sparked much enthusiasm and scooping-up-of-goodies, entitled Willow. These nine piece sets are resplendent including a full prim tiara as well as the gown elements of top, glitch pants, flex prim sleeves in two varieties, and two types of prim skirt.

These sets blend a bit of Ancient Rome with the Medieval, creating a unique and eye catching look. The so called ‘delicate’ prim sleeves, are composed of no less than 159 prims, and must be seen in world to appreciate the fine details.

July’s group gift in Kouse’s Sanctum was the Vivace gown, in Sapphire, which was met with lauding and appreciation by the members of the Kouse’s Sanctum update group. Rumour is that these gowns will make another appearance, as being available for sale, in multiple colours, so let’s all keep our fingers crossed for that. Vivace is pictured below.

And now on to the new Evie’s Closet release, Aria! It’s a gorgeous empire line gown, complete with top, glitch pants, skirt, optional undershirt layer for sleeves, modesty undershirt, prim skirt, two types of flex sleeve, and a full prim wreath.

For those who favour empire line gowns, this is a real treat, it’s satiny textures and rich colours are sure to please. The set gives an overall look of romance and femininity, with a slight touch of mischief. Attributes often associated with fae, which is no real wonder, as it’s creator is a fae at heart, and a lovely person as well.

Avilion Mist’s Serenity Sieyes has just put out yet another smashing release. This time, it’s something to perfectly pamper and spoil the faes among us, even those of us who are not fae can feel a calling to let the little bit fae deep within us run rampant. With it’s sumptuous textures, gorgeous layering and iridescent wings it’s a real treat for the eyes.

These sets come jam packed with ten pieces that can be mixed and matched in many ways. They are tintable, but no transfer, yes copy. Each of these sets is uniquely textures, but all come with two glitch pants, a shorter and longer pair, a system skirt, top, large and small versions of the long prim skirt, and large and small versions of the short prim skirt.

It is so refreshing to see such levels of creativity in the creators of Second Life™. Serenity Sieyes’ use of prims and textures in these glorious sets is innovative, sweet, and sexy, too. Elements such as leaves and flower petals make for a nature based luxury rarely found on the grid, a thing that is absolutely, incontestably, fae. Where other fae geared outfits borrow from other sources, be it human clothing or otherwise, this unique set draws only from flowers and foliage, you feel as though it was a faerie who crafted it with loving care in her little grove.

Every once in a while I am found wearing something of a more modern, and non fantasy, nature. Today this is the case, with the above pictured gown, Tess in teal, from Rebel Hope. Rebel’s combination of black, silver, and vibrant hues creates a chic set that can be worn anywhere and in a number of ways.

This set includes top, short glitch pants, longer glitch pants, three types of skirt, and three prim skirts, a shirt prim skirt, a long flex skirt, and a cocktail skirt. The mixing and matching ability makes this gown, with it’s clean and modest cut, a good choice for many.

There’s subtle detail in the textures here that can truly be appreciated. I really like the belt that’s been lovingly drawn onto the top texture just above the waist, it’s a lovely and feminine touch that compliments the rest of the outfit, no matter which way it is worn, flawlessly.

Good day fashion addicts! This spiffy little number is from Blaze, a shop owned and operated by Blaze Columbia. Please forgive me for the lacklustre title to the post. This is the Sophisticate gown in Purple Orchid. This seven piece set includes two tops, glitch pants, skirt, two sets of gloves, and a prim skirt that is comprised of two attachments. There is mixing and matching available here, as demonstrated in the above image. One top is the strapless sexy gown top, the other is a tux vest/tie combo.

The textures on this set are quite nice, especially given the price of the Sophisticate gowns (I found this one on SLX for 100L). The sets are no copy, so you can modify them to your hearts desire, or give them away as gifts easily.

Today my eyes are from the Mirror series from Celestial Studios, my skin is from Naughty, and my hair is the new Elizabeth style from Kouse’s Sanctum in black. That’s it for now, dear readers, keep your eyes peeled for more Tres Belle goodness to come!

Dearest reader, I come to you today with what will be a lengthy and picture intensive article. My hope is to do at least a little justice to the marvels that have recently come out of Avilion Mist, both the exquisite Ren Dresses (more versions have been added since my original post here), and a new and extraordinarily unique collection of jewellery. The gowns were created by the wonderful Serenity Sieyes, and the jewellery by one of Second Life’s best jewellers, Malakh Giles.

I have been known to be fastidious in my selection of clothing and jewels. On the other hand I can be completely flamboyant, I know. One thing is for certain however. Items from Avilion Mist, from old to new, are items that will please the tastes of everyone (who has taste of course).

Let’s begin with the Ren Dresses. Serenity Sieyes of Avilion Mist has created a set up that allows buyers to mix and match pieces of these outfits, and to only need to buy what they want, be it one style of bodice, a skirt, skirt and bodice combo, or an entire outfit, the combinations are virtually endless, with a vast array of sumptuously detailed textures. The images here only show a small sampling of what’s available. I recommend seeing the full sized images, just click on anyone of them and you can examine the details I was able to capture via my Flickr. I stress that the only way to fully appreciate these outfits is to buy them for yourself, and try them on! Endless care and precision made for outfits that can only be appreciated when one has viewed them from all angles, in-world.

I adore all of the Ren dresses, if I had to pick a favourite, and believe me, I’m hard pressed to do so, I would have to say the white lace as pictured here. Again, it’s the minutiae of the textures and the fine skill with which the prim pieces were created that work together to create a masterwork.

There is a special edition of the Ren Dress available at the Avilion Mist Fortress and in the Avilion Vale location (in the marketplace), which includes many pieces. Only 250 units of this one are to be sold, so when it’s gone it’s gone (read: hurry and snag your copy!).

The special edition of the Ren Dress, dubbed Avilion Mist ~ Ren Dress LE (Limited Edition), includes the following pieces: A gathered top on the undershirt layer, simple top on the undershirt layer, simple top with trim on the undershirt layer, top shirt arms on the top layer, simple top on the top layer, top with simple trim on the top layer, gathered top on the top layer, system skirt, glitch pants, three styles of bodice on the jacket layer, matching aura capelette, prim headpiece, prim headpiece with veil, two styles of prim sleeve on the upper arm, and a third style of prim sleeves with upper and lower arm parts. This is truly a mix-and-matchers dream come true in a medieval gown. The pieces are all no transfer, however they are modifiable meaning yes, tintable as well.

Now then, let’s take a look at the interesting new jewellery from Avilion Mist. Yesterday, Malakh Giles of Avilion Mist released the new ‘Fantasy Collection’ of jewellery. These jewels are completely unique, not at all your traditional tiara, necklace, or earrings (although all Avilion Mist jewellery is as superb as everything else housed in that fortress).

No these jewels are of a different sort. Think of those exotic rhinestone bindis, picture that in your mind. Now, imagine similar items that adorn the eyes and the cheeks. This is what the new Fantasy Collection presents us with, fantastical pieces of art that can be worn on the face. There are currently six different varieties, each box containing three sizes ranging from very small to a larger, more noticeable dimension.

All of the items contain the usual scripting associated with Avilion Mist jewellery, with options to choose from a total of 11 colours, bright on and off et cetera. I elected to use diamond for nearly all of these images, save for some obligatory sapphire in my necklace in one image. My reason for this was the contrast of the jewellery against the skin, I wanted the details to be as visible to the eye as possible in these images.

The available varieties of jewellery in this series are the Ethereal Bloom (a flower worn on the cheek), Eyelashes (full prim lashes that look as though they are made of stardust), Celestial Tears (fabulous creations that drip down from the eye in the path a tear would take), Spider’s Web which is worn on the cheek, Fairy Stars which are interesting seven pointed stars worn on the cheek, and moonlight, a crescent moon/stars combo again worn on the cheek.

These little pieces of art are no mod, no transfer, however adjustments can still be made if required, as you don’t need mod permissions to adjust an objects position on your avatar. That’s about it for now, happy shopping dolls!

This is one of the newest releases from Kouse’s Sanctum, dubbed ‘Kyra’ (this is the emerald shade). This daring gown boasts fully hand drawn textures, and is available in mostly dark, rich shades at present, although a white version is available. It is sold as no trans, with everything being copyable, the prim parts are modifiable however the clothing layers are no mod.

The shading on the textures for this gown are careful and precise. The neckline and back of the gown plunge dangerously, lending a seductive quality to an otherwise fairly modest garb. Interestingly, the details at the neckline, back and upper arms, are spiders. Perhaps at subtle tribute to Lolth?

Also new at Kouse’s are the Mia gowns.

These gowns are available in 5 shades at Kouse’s shops in Avilion Vale and in SeaBreeze Oasis. They include two types of ball gown skirt as is shown in the above image, as well as flex sleeves, top, top on jacket layer, and two colours of glitch pants (One white, the other the colour of the gown).

These gowns were also created with hand drawn textures. The airbrushed look of the flowers on these gowns is unique, the prim work and textures work together to bring fairytale and modern aspects into one outfit.

Good morning dear readers, and welcome to yet another Tres Belle post. And ahh…Nicky Ree has stolen my heart yet again. For this post I’ve selected one of Nicky Ree’s newer releases, the Le Fleur Baroque gown.

The set includes two version of top, glitch pants, system skirt, scripted petticoat, scripted prim sleeves, scripted skirt, shorter scripted skirt with bustles, and longer scripted skirt with bustles. The scripts are for resizing, and smart skirt sitting.

Out of the available colours of this gown, the Steel blue (dubbed ‘Steel’) caught my eye most. So then naturally I scooped up my copy and then rushed off to take pictures! My hat is off to Nicky Ree. She continues to improve and create such marvellous goodies for us, I admire her talent and perseverance greatly.

The bustled skirts on the Le Fleur sets are amazing, this is the best use of sculpted prims I have yet seen as far as skirts are concerned. Nicky Ree creates a new level of realism and fantasy with the development of these skirts. The resizing/skirt sit scripts are just a bonus, making this set a must have, even for those of us who aren’t typically the Baroque gown wearing type. The gown, as are all Nicky Ree items, is no transfer.

The textures in this set are just amazing. As you all know, Nicky Ree’s textures are hand drawn, and this set is another example of her gifts with illustration. The shading, details and contours of these textures are fetching, I spent many moments admiring the gown from every angle. I am in love with this gown, and I must say it is well worth every Linden.

Of course I couldn’t walk into Nicky Ree’s and only buy one gown, so there will be more in the future. That’s all for this post, happy shopping dears and come back to visit this blog soon.

Every once in a while I get the unshakable urge to dig into my closet for older, but very fabulous, things. This morning that thing was Simone’s Casual Ensemble Black - Poinsettia. Boasting beautiful hand drawn textures and prim work that seems to just float, it’s a gorgeous outfit any way it’s worn, and yes indeed there are multiple ways.
Included pieces are two varieties of top (long and short), two skirt types (long and short), panties, gloves, short flexi skirt, and long flexi skirt. Noticeable is the absence of glitch pants. Also, all the pieces are no transfer, however are mod and copy enabled, meaning tintability (admire).
I adore the short skirt, I think it’s emphatically magnificent with it’s bias cut. When worn in conjunction with the short skirt and top, it offers a very fae like look. The long ball gown is charming as well, though if I were to change one thing about it, it would be the arrangement of the prims just slightly, as one’s posterior does seem to protrude through the many folds of fabric.

I still adore this gown however, it is one of my favourites. Simone Stern, owner and operator of Simone! is one with remarkable talent, and it shone through in this item, which I acquired some time last year if I recall correctly.

A comment was left by a sweet reader of this blog suggesting I take a look at DeFleur Fashions. I did, and was impressed I must say with the creative and interesting gowns there. The shop, owned and operated by Natalia Basiat, is a veritable treasure trove of Medieval/Elizabethan/Fantasy items. Her use of textures is unique as can be seen in the above image. The gown I will discuss in this post is called ‘Peacock Royale’, a number that caught my eye right away.
It includes a total of 14 pieces, one of which is a curtsey animation, which comes in handy for those role players out there. The clothing items entail two types of partlet, glitch pants, top, slim prim skirt, full prim skirt, skirt with train, jewelled hair veil, golden belt in two versions (high sitting and low sitting), jewelled arm bands, and a jewelled collar.
The jewelled collar on this gown is one of the unique things about it that I really admire. Also, the set is transfer and modify enabled, making for easy gift giving. The veil is truly a delicately crafted crown with the flex prims added giving it that veil look. The array of colours blended into this gown are inventive and eye catching, not exactly your ordinary frock. I like the partlet idea, there are two of them, and they are optional, so you can choose which colour you prefer, or not wear one at all. For the more modest gown wearers out there this is a lovely option to have.

Once again beauties, it is time to delve into the world of magic, and fantasy, and to discover something fabulous from Avilion Mist.
This is the Female Ranger Armour, one of the unique armour types that can be found at Avilion Mist. Also available are dragon armour, Dame (knight) armour, and Drow (Lolth) armour. All of them have been created by the ever talented Serenity Sieyes and Malakh Giles.
This particular set includes system layer clothing, prim clothing, including sculpted amour pieces. Chain undershirt, corselet, chain pants, cloth pants, thong, and shoes are on the system layer. Prim and sculpted pieces include skirt, upper arm pieces, thigh guards, shoulder armour, bracers, cloak, and chest piece. The total number of the pieces in this set is nineteen. As a note, the system layers are no mod, no transfer, and the prim pieces are no transfer, mod abilities are granted so that you may fiddle with the fitting of these pieces as you wish.
The textures on these sets are all fabulous, but I prefer the Ranger set (though I do adore them all). The silver leaves on the ranger set compliment the other colours beautifully, offsetting the other tones and creating a look that is flawless and captivating, drawing the eye in every which direction. This is an outfit that speaks of detail and care in every way, well worth the Lindensä.
